Do You Have Good Email Etiquette?

Have you checked out MarketingProfs yet? It’s easily one of our favorite marketing sites. They’re always giving us good marketing advice and insight, in easy-to-digest articles, case studies, and webinars that are actually fun to read and don’t require a ton of our time.

Well, one of this week’s articles was a keeper: Katherine Towner’s “Email Etiquette: Use It or Lose It.” How many of use allow ourselves to get lazy, informal, impatient–or worse, irrational–over email?

“Most email etiquette mistakes happen,” Towner says, ”when haste and emotion override common sense.”

And email mistakes can easily damage both your professional reputation and your professional relationships.

Do yourself a favor and take a few minutes to brush up on your email etiquette. Read Towner’s entire article here on MarketingProfs.com.

We’ve Got Starbucks in Our Eyes

With all the talk this past week about Howard Schultz being reinstated as Chief Executive Officer of Starbucks it really got us thinking about the impact that Starbucks has had on the world, more specifically this country. While coffee houses have been popular in Europe for many decades, it was Starbucks that really exponentially grew the coffee shop experience here in the U.S.

Think about it - how many brands out there have had such an impact on the way we live? Starbucks is where we meet friends, hold business meetings, meet for the first “get to know you” date, and boot up our computers to work remotely in between stops. Not to mention it’s where you can add 600 calories to a calorie free coffee faster then you can say “I’ll have a Venti white chocolate Mocha Frappuccino with double whipped cream.” What’s even more amazing is that they do virtually no advertising.

If you’re like most marketers, you probably fantasize about transforming your brand into the Starbucks of your industry.

And we at at TruePresence are no different. Our vision is very much to become ”that brand” - that brand that every business will know and seek when they want to build THEIR brand. After all, that’s what TruePresence does - it helps businesses, of all sizes, in any industry, find, get and keep customers. When we tell people (and we tell anyone that will listen) our mission - they really get it.
