We’ve Got Starbucks in Our Eyes

With all the talk this past week about Howard Schultz being reinstated as Chief Executive Officer of Starbucks it really got us thinking about the impact that Starbucks has had on the world, more specifically this country. While coffee houses have been popular in Europe for many decades, it was Starbucks that really exponentially grew the coffee shop experience here in the U.S.

Think about it - how many brands out there have had such an impact on the way we live? Starbucks is where we meet friends, hold business meetings, meet for the first “get to know you” date, and boot up our computers to work remotely in between stops. Not to mention it’s where you can add 600 calories to a calorie free coffee faster then you can say “I’ll have a Venti white chocolate Mocha Frappuccino with double whipped cream.” What’s even more amazing is that they do virtually no advertising.

If you’re like most marketers, you probably fantasize about transforming your brand into the Starbucks of your industry.
